ABOUT THE AUTHORS

BRETT KUNKLE is the co-founder and president of MAVEN. He has more than 30 years of experience working with middle school, high school and college students, parents, educators and church leaders. Brett speaks to thousands of students and adults annually, at churches, seminars, conferences, and college campuses across the country. He has developed a groundbreaking approach to mission trips, creating a one-of-a-kind training experience that immerses participants in real-life engagement in worldview, apologetics, theology, and evangelism.

 
In addition, Brett is a Teaching Fellow at the Impact 360 Institute and co-pastor at Imago Dei Church in Orange County, California.  He was an associate editor for the Apologetics Study Bible for Students, authored The Ambassadors Guide to Mormonism and co-authored A Practical Guide to Culture: Helping the Next Generation Navigate Today’s World and A Student’s Guide to Culture. Brett received his bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Biola University and he earned his master’s degree in philosophy of religion and ethics at Talbot School of Theology.
 
Brett has been married to his wife Erin, for 29 years. Together they have five children and four grandchildren, and live in Southern California.

ERIN KUNKLE is the co-founder of MAVEN, where she serves as a speaker and board member. She has spoken to thousands of students and adults across the United States, addressing parenting, discipleship, worldview, and contemporary cultural issues from a Christian worldview. Her speaking has taken her to churches, conferences, schools, women’s events, parenting seminars and ministry gatherings across the country. She also co-hosts the weekly MAVEN Parent Podcast.

Erin previously served as co-host of the Colson Center’s Strong Women Podcast, a national podcast with more than one million downloads annually, where she interviewed a wide range of Christian thought leaders. She contributed a chapter entitled, “Sex Matters: Understanding the Differences Between Male and Female and Why It Is Good,” for the book Truth: Lectures from the 2025 Defend Apologetics Conference.

Erin received her bachelor’s degree in social science from Biola University, with an emphasis in political science and minors in public policy and Bible. She is a veteran homeschooling mother of more than 20 years and teaches high school logic and apologetics at the Sursum Corda Cooperative. She has been married to her husband, Brett, for 29 years. Together they have five children and four grandchildren, and live in Southern California.
