The 66 books of the Bible lay out for us the history of the world, describing the creation, fall, redemption, and restoration of the human race. But it also illuminates what is taking place now and what is to come. The Bible is a factually accurate account of reality—past, present, and future. There is not a single square-inch of life that Scripture does not account for and touch upon. Within its pages, we have God’s authoritative source on all knowledge. Therefore, the Bible is the single most important volume in the history of humanity.
But do we treat it as such? Do we study it vigorously and submit to it regularly? Does the Bible occupy a place of supreme authority in our lives? Of course, we know what the answers to these questions should be, but often what we know in our minds isn’t always the case in our lives. Brett Kunkle is the founder and president of MAVEN, a movement to equip the next generation to know truth, pursue goodness and create beauty for the cause of Christ. He has more than 25 years of experience working with youth and parents. Brett is an associate editor for the Apologetics Study Bible for Students, author of The Ambassadors Guide to Mormonism and co-authored A Practical Guide to Culture: Helping the Next Generation Navigate Today’s World and A Student’s Guide to Culture. He received his Master’s degree in philosophy of religion and ethics from Talbot School of Theology. Brett lives with his wife and five kids in Southern California.
